Site notes
The Pass-A-Grille Wireless Waves Site, located at 27° 40.650' N (27.678 N), 82° 46.196' W (82.769 W) is the first of the COMPS "Near-Shore Wave measurements" sites to be deployed on the West Florida Shelf along the 6-10 m isobaths. The C21 system consists of Teledyne-RDInstruments 600kHz workhorse ADCP (with waves technology) linked to the home station at the USF College of Marine Science by a combination of Teledyne-Benthos Telesonar Acoustic Modems and Cellular modem. Depth at the C21 site is 6 meters. Observations of significant wave height, period, and direction along with water level are measured every three hours. Current velocity is measured every 10 minutes. For further details and related questions please contact Rick Cole (727-553-1522, email: rdc@marine.usf.edu) or Dr. Robert H. Weisberg (727-553-1568, weisberg@marine.usf.edu).
